I guess I owe a BIG thankyou to ‘Twitter’ for getting me over to this blog.
Well worth the ‘follow’ to; @richardbranson :-)

I just watched the video series, including the Business Stripped Bare video. Have you missed a trick here?
That song & video should surely be on public release :-)

Would you consider opening a Virgin Atlantic Hub in Wilmington Ohio USA? The Airborne Airpark, being abandoned by DHL, would make a perfect hub and will be available soon..

    Dear Richard,
Picked up BSB,at Gatwick on my return to Ukraine recently and thank you for your inspiration. As a child growing up in Canada “green” was indoctrinated at a very early age and the world is now just waking up to its colour.
I’ve been working on a turbine engine with exsoviet engineers for the past four years (of course Bio fuel with a revalutionary fuel delivery system and cooling system)I won’t devulge more then this at the moment but,as you indicated in your book, change is the nessesity of not just business but life. This of course leads me to my question. How should one endevour to launch a product that will have a tremendous impact on our world and still retain ones virginity?

    Hi,
I threw caution to the wind about three years ago and gave up a 25 year nursing career to become, of all things, an artist. I’ve managed to maintain my household (I’m a single mother of 5) by selling my art online. However, due to the economy being in a crisis, art seems to be more of a luxury than an investment and I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how I might better my business. I’m very passionate about creating and I’ve always heard “follow your passion”, but I’ve also heard the line-”don’t quit your day job”. I’m from a small town in Indiana, which is not exactly the “hub” for art collecting. Any information you could offer would greatly help.
    Thank you so much,
    skylar mccready

    Dear Mr Branson,

I am a Business student currently studying at Brighton university, and have a Business proposition that I would like to discuss with you. I hope that you could find some time in your undoubtedly hectic schedule to contact me via my email about the matter at hand which is dearly important to me.

Thank you for your attention, I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours sincerely,

  11. Henrik Mårtensson - December 2nd, 2008

    Dear Richard,

When I read Business Stripped Bare I noticed several parallels with the ideas of John Boyd:

    * Network organization kept together by a common set of values
    * Organization around value streams
    * Simple set of rules regarding conduct
    * Building an organization without fear
    * Encouraging initiative at lower levels of the organization
    * Emphasis on innovation and speed to outmaneuver opposition

Is this a case of parallel evolution of ideas, or have you or your top management team been influenced by the ideas of Boyd?

Boyd was heavily influenced by Sun Tzu and the Art of War, so I am also interested in whether Boyd’s ideas and yours may have common roots, even if they are not directly connected.

    Kind Regards,

    Henrik Mårtensson

    Dear Richard,

I know there is a Virgin Management organization that supports Virgin companies with education and assistance when needed.

Have you considered taking on external customers and go into management consulting? It is certainly a business that needs a fresh approach.

Hi Rich - Great Video. For now you answered all I wanted to know, but I’m sure there be more questions arising soon ;-)

  14. Steli Efti - December 5th, 2008

    Hi Rich,
I’m the founder of an education startup and we had a little brainstorming session the other day with some friends called “What would Richard Branson do?”

Well…today a friend of mine told me about your blog and I thought I’ll use the chance to ask you directly:

What are your ideas to improve education on a global scale? And how would you market learning/education in general?

    Any crazy ideas?

Looking forward to your answers :)
    Steli

  15. Stephen Burford - December 6th, 2008

    My questions is:

Richard, if you woke up tomorrow and all the business you had created in your life had gone, you had £500 left. What business would you go into?

  16. Maynas Eric Chua - December 13th, 2008

    Hi Richard,

I asked Stephen about this question in a his post “What does it take to be a Virgin entrepreneur?” and thought I’ll ask something similar but on a more personal level if you don’t mind. *Smiles*

This is what I asked Stephen:

“You mentioned about business propositions needing a different and clear selling USP. What about people?

In your opinion, do you think people need a different and clear selling USP as well? If so, what are some you have personally seen?”

Richard, my question for you is:
What’s your USP for you as a person?

    *Winks*
I have read many of your books including “Business stripped Bare”, though I think your USP as a person is quite obvious to people who know you personally and to those who read your books, still, it would be interesting to hear what you think yourself about…hmm..yourself.
    *Smiles*

Hopefully, answering this question through the back of your mind could spark some interesting ideas.

    A Friend from Singapore,
    Maynas Eric Chua

    ‘Screw it, just do it’

I think you books name said for me a long time ago, my question for you Sir is would you complete a video interview with myself and obviously your collegues, as I have just started a business after getting medically discharged from the Army from serving 12 years and would like your input to the Employers of this country and the world for my website videos. It is a unique website with a larger difference to the marketing area I am pushing into and benefits both users and Employers, I asked so bluntly because of the name of your book and I like yourself have self taught in everthing from scratch the hard way is sometimes always the better, thank-you for allowing me to post.
